Gone Fishing

This inspiration for this watercolor came from an old photo of my husband’s uncle ~ who recently, I’m so sorry to say, passed away ~ and his young son.

This scene is so inviting and serene that it makes me want to step right into it, away from the heartbreak and busyness of life, and just simply “go fishing.”

And so, in the midst of all my weariness with life, I turn to Him, Who is my abiding rest.

“Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

  1. I love competitive fishing, the speed of the boats, the challenge of finding and bringing in the biggest basket of fish, the the high intense non-stop casting for 8 hours. But even more than this type of fishing, I loved taking my two beautiful little girls fishing. With their pink little rod and reels, little bobbers, and the amazement in their eyes when they caught something. Now that was living! Thanks for the memory.
